These compositions were written by New Zealand based composers especially for a concert series commemorating the 65th anniversary of the arrival in New Zealand of the "Pahiatua Children" -- Polish refugee children that arrived in NZ near the end of WWII -- and 20 years of Polish Independance.
Tracks 2-6 and 8-9 are new compositions, and were commissioned with funds generously provided by the Polish Charitable Trust, Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Polish Childrens Reunion Committee, and the Polish Association of New Zealand. Track 1 is an arrangement of a traditional folk song that has come to represent the Polish Diaspora; Track 7 is an arragnment of a previous work of the same composer, especially for this specific project.
